Christine Gregoire

In August 2003 Christine Gregoire was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is reported as saying to her surgeon, "I'm obviously going to drop out of the race for governor." He reportedly responded with, 'Why would you do that? She was elected Washington's second female Governor in November 2004 and was reelected in 2008.

Our governor (Jodi Rell) became governor a few months before being diagnosed with breast cancer. She is fine now and is doing a great job.

As a prostate cancer survivor who preaches there's usually room for hope (ConquerProstateCancer.com), I truly appreciate your sharing your brief upbeat report about a breast cancer survivor, who found she was able to run for governor of Washington State in 2004 and was reelected last year.
Your messages are always thought-provoking, inspiring, and "from the heart."
If you'd like me to share comparable informative and upbeat messages on your blog, such as my recent interdenominational invocation at a recent Relay for Life rally, please contact me.
Good health...to us all!
