Dennis Hopper - Updated 11/7/09

Dennis Hopper, actor and artist has been diagnosed with prostate cancer. Travel plans including an appearance at an exhibition of his artwork and photography at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Melbourne.

He is reportedly being treated through a "special program" at the University of Southern California.

At age 73, Hopper has been acting for over 50 years, starting with Rebel Without a Cause and continuing to today. He has recently finished shooting the second season of "Crash," for USA networks and has multiple films in post production.

Dennis Hopper is also a well known painter and photographer and painter, with works displayed in galleries internationally and in the US.


UPDATE: 11/7/09 While Mr. Hopper has just recently announced his cancer it has been reported today that he has been fighting this cancer for the last nine years.

I think Dennis Hopper is an Icon in the acting category and now he'll be an example of carrying on while hopefully beating cancer and be a great example of how we can survive..
this horrible disease.

Thanks for reading guys. Hopper used to live here in Wilmington, NC so I feel this weird connection to him. Here's hoping everything turns out well!
